Psalm 27:14

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. (NIV)

Consider: How good am I at waiting on the Lord?

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (NIV)

Consider: For me, the key to this passage is that “God is faithful.” When I am tempted, do I even look for the way out that He’s provided?

Romans 13:12

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. (NIV)

Consider: What kind of armor am I wearing?

Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (NIV)

Consider: I am so thankful that when we need mercy and grace, we can go to the Lord in confidence, knowing that he wants to give those things to us.

Isaiah 11:3-4

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. (NIV)

Consider: I am so thankful that God is a righteous judge.

Matthew 7:21

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (NKJV)

Consider: Do my actions demonstrate that I am actively “doing the will of the Father” or do I talk more than I do?

Proverbs 19:17

He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done. (NIV)

Consider: How can I show kindness to the poor today? May I remember that people can be “poor” in other ways besides financial. What about the poor in spirit? Help me to recognize when people are “poor.”

Luke 16:11

So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? (NIV)

Consider: Am I a good steward of what God has given to me?

Luke 3:11

John answered, “The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same.” (NIV)

Consider: Am I willing to share with and give to those in need?
