Consider: God’s Word is not only trustworthy, but it energizes our soul.

Ecclesiastes 5:2

Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. (NIV)

Consider: Now there is a definite reason to think before you speak.

James 1:26

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. (NIV)

Consider: Today, I need to make sure that my tongue stays in check and that I think before I speak.

Daniel 6:27

“He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.” (NIV)

Consider: The Lord who watched Daniel and rescued him at the right time is the same One who watches over and rescues us.

Luke 10:2

He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. (NIV)

Consider: What kind of worker am I in God’s Kingdom?

Psalm 119:131

I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. (NIV)

Consider: How much do I really “thirst” for God’s commands?

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (NKJV)

Consider: How much energy do I waste making light afflictions heavier than they really are? Can I keep my focus on the eternal?

1 Corinthians 3:16

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? (NIV)

Consider: It’s an honor to have God’s Spirit living inside. Do I take good care of His temple or do I let it get run down?

John 14:15

If ye love me, keep my commandments. (KJV)

Consider: It’s easy to claim that we love God, but how we treat His commandments and how we respond when we break them, shows whether we truly love Him or not.

Exodus 4:12

[The LORD said to Moses,] “Now go! When you speak, I will be with you and give you the words to say.” (CEV)

Consider: Do I trust the Lord enough to speak the words that He gives to me?
