Consider: God doesn’t compare us to other people, so we shouldn’t either.

Matthew 4:19-20

Jesus called out to them, “Come, be my disciples, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and went with him. (NLT)

Consider: When the Lord calls me, am I willing to leave my comfort zone and follow Him?

Jeremiah 29:13

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (NKJV)

Consider: How much effort do we truly put into seeking out God?

Proverbs 19:27

Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge. (NIV)

Consider: “Straying” can happen when we don’t even mean for it to, so we must stay alert.

Psalm 145:18

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. (NIV)

Consider: Remember that the Lord can be near us, even when it doesn’t feel like He is.

Galatians 5:7

You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? (NIV)

Consider: We must watch out for and avoid anything that would interfere with our relationship with God.

Ephesians 4:31

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. (NLT)

Consider: If we allow these things to remain in our lives, they will only paralyze us.

Ecclesiastes 7:10

Don’t long for “the good old days,” for you don’t know whether they were any better than today. (NLT)

Consider: How much time do we waste trying to live in the past instead of living in the now and working towards the future?

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. (NKJV)

Consider: When I read this verse, the word “endures” caught my eye. It’s not that we beat, defeat, or conquer temptation, but that we endure it. Remember that temptation is not sin, but giving in to temptation can lead us to sin.

Proverbs 11:14

Without wise leadership, a nation falls; with many counselors, there is safety. (NLT)

Consider: Whether we agree or disagree with our leaders, we should always pray that they make wise decisions and surround themselves with wise people.
