Isaiah 60:1-2

Thoughts: When life seems very dark, the Lord is there to provide the light we need.

Matthew 25:13

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” (NKJV)

Thoughts: There are so many things in life that can distract us, but we must always remember to keep watch.

Mark 11:25

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” (NKJV)

Thoughts: If we don’t forgive others, we actually damage ourselves.

Psalm 105:5

Remember the wonders He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He pronounced… (NIV)

Thoughts: When in doubt about the future, remember what God has done for you already.

John 6:29

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” (NIV)

Thoughts: We spend a lot of time worrying about what God wants us to do. Instead of wasting time with worry, start with the basics – believe in Jesus!

Psalm 94:18

When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your love, O Lord, supported me. (NIV)

Thoughts: God is willing to support us with His love. Are we willing to let Him?

Joel 2:13

Don’t tear your clothing in your grief; instead, tear your hearts.” Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful. He is not easily angered. He is filled with kindness and is eager not to punish you. (NLT)

Thoughts: When we turn away from the Lord, He is eager for our return.

Luke 17:3

So watch yourselves. “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.” (NIV)

Thoughts: We typically focus on the “brother’s sin” aspect of this scripture, but when you read it, the key is for us to “watch ourselves” and how we react to our brother.

Isaiah 44:3

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. (NIV)

Thoughts: When you’re thirsty, be sure you are drinking from the right fountain.

Romans 13:13

We should be decent and true in everything we do, so that everyone can approve of our behavior. Don’t participate in wild parties and getting drunk, or in adultery and immoral living, or in fighting and jealousy. (NLT)

Thoughts: Are my actions “decent and true” or do my actions distract people from seeing Christ?
